The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim (ESOCS) was established as the earthly counterparts of the heavenly Cherubim and seraphim. Cherubim is the plural form of the word Cherub, likewise Seraphim. Cherubim and Seraphim are angels of the highest order in heaven.
The Cherubim were put in the place of Adam by God after he was driven out of the Garden of Eden because of his sins against God (Genesis 3:24). The Cherubim uphold the reign and the rule of God (Psalm 18:9-10). They are constantly in the presence of God worshipping day and night without ceasing. God actually dwells in the midst of the Cherubim (Psalm 80:1).
The Seraphim on the other hand, are closely related and counterpart to the Cherubim. They surround the throne of God and sing His praises day and night before the throne of God. (Isaiah 6:1-3).
ESOCS Members are born again believers that have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. They consent to the Priesthood of the believer and are committed to the propagation of the Gospel of Christ as the Lord and Savior of mankind.
Brief History of the ESOCS Church
The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim was solely founded by Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase in the early part of the 19th century. He began his ministry from his home town Ikare. He left Ikare in 1915 and his missionary journey took him to Lokoja, Jos, Zaria, Kano and later down to Ilorin and Oshogbo until he arrived in Lagos in July 1924. He intensified his preaching of the gospel in Lagos (Nigeria), be it in churches or through open air preaching. He quoted the Bible freely and recited portions to the amazement of his followers who had grown to large numbers. God also used him to work great and mighty miracles. He first named the Church on 9th September 1925 and incorporated it with the CAC under the Company Ordinance Cap. 18, as No. 316 on the 14th of February, 1930 in Nigeria. On Thursday, the 19th October 1933, at 3.00a.m, in the midst of his disciples, Baba took his last breath and was laid to rest at Ojokoro on the 20th October, 1933. After him, the successive Baba ?
